On occasion I enjoy writing for string ensembles that carry the whole song. For this album I had a good candidate with Lament and although it also features piano, it is primarily meant for violin, viola, cello and bass. I originally brought in my singer Jamie Green to do the backgrounds for the ending section, but when she started singing in the studio, she came up with this truly beautiful 2nd harmony voice to the main melody and lifted the whole song a few levels up.
